Hi, my name is Janet Jackson, and no, not the famous singer.  I am just someone who has experienced life as a teenager in high school with sports and following through as an adult with adult sports until just a few years ago.
I am an avid hunter.  I have hunted in the state of Minnesota for white tail, pheasant, and duck.  I am now residing in Arizona, as you can tell with my posts.  I have hunted and still hunt elk, mule deer, turkey, bear and mountain lion.  I am also an avid fisherperson, just not much time to do what I really like to do.
Stay tuned and keep up with me on my adventures and thoughts of sports and hunting.  Adventures to start soon.

Are You Ready for Some Football

Tonight is a football lovers dream.  All NFL games are being played tonight due to the long holiday weekend.  Imagine, sitting in front of your 10 screens and watching all the games simutaneously.  Yeah, right.  Who is going to shine for their teams tonight and become the starting quarterback.  We all know that Leinart is being shopped around, no takers as of last night.  Hmmmm, I wonder why.  Oh, that's right, he was drafted #10 in the draft after Young out of Texas.  That should tell you something.  And as far as Brett Favre is concerned for the Vikings, will his ankle hold up for the whole season or is he going to whimper out and say that he should have stayed retired.
Ok, around the league, we have Buffalo against Detroit,  I take Buffalo.  Indianapolis will cream the Bengals,  Patriots and the Giants, it's Ely against the Brady, taking Brady on this one,  Atlanta is up and coming, take them,  Jets and Eagles, don't like the Eagles so take the Jets.  Steelers if Roethlisberger plays the game.  Bears and Browns, don't want Chicago to get things going because they are in the same division as the Vikings.  Taking the Cowboys even though I don't like them, they should win tonight.  Tampa Bay against the Texans, the Texans look good.  I am sorry Chiefs, but Aaron Rodgers should roll over you tonight.  Don't want the Packers to win but think its a shoe in.
The Vikings of course over Denver,  taking the Ravens over the Rams, just don't see the Ram's producing this year.  If the Cardinals get the QB position taken care of would like to see them win but am picking the Redskins,  Raiders could be ok this year, taking them.  And will last have to go with the 49ers for the last game.
Now, these are all just my predictions for the last pre season game.  I will be coming back to see how I do tomorrow.  Do not use my picks to try and gain anything on gambling, I am not responsible for your picks off of mine.  These are just uneducated stabs in the dark.  I hope that I am correct, BUT DON'T BET ON IT.

Twins are Hanging On

Can the Minnesota Twins hang on to their American League Central Division lead going into the last month of the season?  With 30 games left and 3 of them are against the closest team to them in the Chicago White Sox, the Twins are without Morneau and the Sox have Manny.
Who is going to take the Central?  That is the question of the month.  The White Sox nabbed Manny from the Dodgers, the Dodgers said good riddence.  So far the Sox are using Manny as the DH.  All they need him for is his at bats, Manny is to slow in the outfield and don't even think of putting him in the infield.  The Sox are playing Cleveland today and so far Cleveland is leading by 3 runs.
The Twins on the other hand, have come from behind again in the late innings last night to keep their 4 game lead in the Central.  Liriano will take his 12 and 7 record up against the Detroit Tigers tonight at Target Field.  The Twins will know soon if they can stretch their lead to 5 games if Cleveland can hang on.
Justin Morneau is still out indefinetly and ordered to go home and heal, it doesn't look as though the Twins will have his services and his bat at all for the remainder of the season.  Morneau is not on the 40 man roster, and doesn't look like he will be in the future.

Shopping Around

The Arizona Cardinals were shopping around to see if there were any takers for the often 2nd string quarterback in Matt Leinart.  Well,  it had to happen at some point and time for the Cardinals to ultimately say, "What have you done for me lately?"  And for all of us Cardinals fans who have watched the team over the last several years, of course, not all Cardinal fans will agree with this, but most of us will say, it's about time.
How much more can we endure, Kurt Warner is gone and the fans are not going to settle for anything less than another trip to the playoffs.  Who can see that Happening with Leinart.  Pretty boy came out 5 years ago from USC and hasn't shown much yet.  And now, he may be sitting behind Derek Anderson, who really hasn't been the best quarterback of the Preseason.  I for one, will take Anderson or the other two over Leinart.  Leinart doesn't think that he has done anything wrong and has proven himself to the team that he can drive them down the field for touchdown's and ultimately win enough games to get the Post Season.  Hmmmm, what is really going through his head.  Does he not get the fact that he has been second best for a few years for a reason.  How about during the preseason that you really haven't shown anything.  How about the interview against the Jaguars, when they asked you about the blitz and you are saying that you just couldn't get into the rhythm or something like that and that is what preseason if for.  Come on,  you couldn't read blitz if they told you it was comin.
It is time for Leinart to leave, all your millions sitting your butt on the bench or carrying the clipboard is over.  Send him on his way, hopefully he can be a starter somewhere else, and when we meet up with that team we can blitz him because he won't see it coming.
